Print isn't dead, it was just taking a rest.

When we opened the doors of Shred Creative it was all about print; catalogues, leaflets, flyers and point of sale materials made up a large part of our day to day work and it's something that we've always been really good at. Steve's family are printers and that print environment and designing for print is part of the DNA of our design process. 

Over the past decade we've seen a steady decline in print job enquiries with many customers choosing to push away from print catalogues and brochures and focus their energies on their website and online. The truth is, reducing marketing spend in one area to replace it in another is all very well but these two formats are very different things. 

Your website does the job of handing new enquiries, it's great for the numbers game, helping support those early shoots of business that you get on a day to day basis. It's also great at carrying all of the mundane material that is pointless printing in a brochure. 

Your brochure is the best sales person you could ever have, it's the next line of attack in getting new business and the piece that seals the deal. It's the place where clients see that you mean business, the paper tells them your eye for detail, the design shows them you take your business seriously and that you'll take their business seriously too. It's about look and feel. It's in the hand of your sales person when they turn up or it arrives in a nice envelope to be the one bit of post your client is actually going to open that day.
